Full day ticket is a guided tour to visit in a day the Giara Park and the museums of the village Genoni.
The highlights of the day:
The Giara
The Giara is a basaltic plateau with characteristic features. An enormous natural fortress in central Sardinia, it treasures a wealth of endemic plant species amongst its flora and boasts enchanting scenery. It is renowned for the presence of the Giara horses, for its springtime displays of flowers in bloom and for its ponds known as Paulis.
The PAR.C.
The Paleo Archeo Centro is a dynamic museum with an innovative approach, which is closely connected to its surrounding area. The Centre is set out in three sections:
Palaeontological – examine fossils unearthed in the environs
Archaeological – admire a reconstruction of Sardinia’s deepest nuraghic well
Educational – learn about the work of a palaeontologist in our laboratory, or take part in other educational workshops
The GeoPaleoSito
This geological and palaeontological site, also known as the Duidduru quarry, is an unparalleled locality in Sardinia, where visitors can marvel at a fossilized tropical seabed. The site’s visible rock stratification and geographical fault make it a real educational training ground.
Ex-Monastery of the Friars Minor of the Observance
This former monastery dates from the 17th century and was restored just a few years ago. Its extremely evocative setting offers a breathtaking panorama sweeping across the town, the Marmilla region and the Giara plateau. This is an intriguing visit to discover more about the Sardinian modern era.
